Just about a minute’s walk from the popular Juhu beach in Mumbai is the new Hometown Café, which is the latest restaurant brands from the China Gate group, the new venture, which occupies the space where ‘Deltalia” once stood, has a relaxed ambience that echoes a feeling of homecoming.

Stylised to a rustic feel, the walls are thronged with postcards & paintings, while stained-glass lamps of olden times constitute an integral part of the warm & woody decor. With the place displaying certain shades of a modern day cafe, one can find an eclectic assortment of food & beverages here. On the whole though, the cafe means to create an atmosphere and feeling of belonging, similar to the feeling one would get on returning to their hometown.

We all know that the ambience of a particular setting goes a long way in creating the atmosphere, and in the case of the Hometown Cafe, the well planned audio setup has been a tremendous help in building the ambience of the place. The audio levels at the venue are set to just about the perfect range, delivering clear and crisp ambient music that’s not too loud, thereby also allowing people to stir up and get engrossed in interesting conversations.

Mumbai’s Narain Pro Audio & Lighting Pvt Ltd, were the ones responsible for delivering the perfect audio solution, and the sights and sounds of the venue suggests that they’ve done a very commendable job. The setup consists of 6 numbers of Turbosound’s Impact55T compact passive 2-way speakers powered by NX Audio’s MT-601 MK2 power amplifier, and two numbers of Turbosound’s TCX-15B single 15” compact bandpass subwoofer powered by NX Audio’s MT 800-MK2 powered amplifiers for the lower indoor level with another 6 Impact55t and 1 TCX15B Sub for the open air Terrace. The combination works harmoniously to provide the perfect ambient sound reinforcement, helping to build up the kind of warm atmosphere that the cafe desires to project, that too in the most subtle way.

Discussing about team Narain’s experience of completing the project, Manoj Motwani of Narain said, “We’ve extended our services to the China Gate group in the past and have provided complete audio solutions for a number of their projects, so it’s been a great experience for us to work with them again. This project was unique in terms of the concept, and so we had to be extra sure about the equipment we planned to deploy. In the end, the install was completed smoothly, and the final result has definitely pleased us as well as our clients.”

The management at the China Gate group also confirmed their satisfaction with the manner & degree of professionalism with which the install was completed. They also confirmed that their regular patrons enjoy the music and the ambience as much as the food & beverage available at the cafe.

The Hometown Cafe has a lot to give, with their offerings promising to suit your every mood. So the next time you’re tired of strolling around on Juhu beach, and want to experience the sights & sounds that would make you feel right at home, do drop by the Hometown Cafe.
