Introducing
the TXD series of portable sound reinforcement products: offering unbeatable
audio performance, advanced features and excellent long term dependability,
designed for the most discerning DJ, performing musician and audio systems
contractor.
Turbosound’s cutting-edge Aspect system and the legendary Flashlight
and Floodlight rock and roll concert touring systems dominate the large
scale touring market, and are endorsed by major international artists
and PA rental companies. Professional concert touring is the inspiration
for a brand new TXD series of loudspeakers, which shares many common
features with our industry leading loudspeakers. From the ground up,
TXD series cabinets are constructed from the best quality materials,
and are assembled using the same construction techniques as every Turbosound
enclosure. Even the heavy duty, signature TurboBlue™ textured
paint is the same as that used on our flagship touring enclosures.
The new TXD series features an all new set of loudspeaker components.
High power LF drivers have been selected to our specific requirements
and are designed for high efficiency, solid bass response and low colouration.
The 1” high frequency compression driver used in two-way models
is carefully selected for distortion-free sound quality and smooth frequency
response. Even though the TXD series is ideal for mobile DJ and live
music performances, we also recognize the need to make the range ideal
for fixed installation use, and to that end we have provided installers
and sound contractors with designed-in rigging points to allow the loudspeakers
to be permanently installed in clubs, pubs and other music venues. In
order to make the installers job quick and easy, the integral rigging
points are designed to accept M10 shoulder eyebolts for a fast and safe
method of suspending and angling the enclosures in a variety of installed
situations. All two-way enclosures feature an updated high frequency
protection circuit which makes them virtually bulletproof. Turbosound’s
Thermal Overload Protection System (TOPS) transparently and inaudibly
adjusts the level to the compression driver if potentially damaging
levels are approached.
It
consists of a 18” reflex-loaded low frequency driver in a birch
plywood enclosure, optimally tuned for extended low frequency response.
The TXD-118 includes an internal low-pass crossover network which filters
high frequency signals from the bass driver when used in conjunction
with 2-way enclosures such as the TXD-121 or TXD-151, enabling a full
range system to be powered from a single amplifier channel without the
need for external electronic crossovers.
The enclosure is fitted with internal M10 threaded rigging points on
the top and rear, which allow single cabinets to be suspended and angled
in fixed installations using optional M10 shoulder eyebolts. A pole
mount socket is fitted to the top of the cabinet to enable 2-way enclosures
to be mounted on 35mm poles. The cabinet is constructed from 15mm (5/8”)
birch plywood, and is finished in a durable semi-matt textured TurboBlue™
paint. Two flush handles are provided on the sides for easy lifting
and carrying, and four rubber feet are fitted to the bottom of the cabinet.
Two Speakon NL4MP connectors provide input and parallel connections
to additional TXD series loudspeakers.
The
TXD-118 is a front-loaded low frequency loudspeaker enclosure designed
to give bass and sub-bass reinforcement to TXD series 2-way enclosures
in a wide variety of live sound applications, as well as in fixed installations
ranging from cafés, pubs, bars and restaurants to retail stores
and houses of worship
